This 4 hour course is intended to familiarize students interpreting structural drawings, with emphasis placed on applying that knowledge and understanding to Special Inspection.

Using multiple sets of structural drawings (provided for use during class) representing commonly encountered designs, layouts and floorplans, students will learn how to effectively interpret and apply content to Special Inspection.

Topics covered will be:

General Notes, Special Inspection Schedule, abbreviations, symbols and notations

Foundation/floor plans, elevations

Typical details, schedules, call-outs

Interfaces with other building materials
