Concrete Placement/ Batch Plant Inspection

This course is designed to prepare structural concrete inspectors to perform concrete placement and batch plant inspections. This course is necessary to become certified by WABO in the new inspection category of Concrete Placement/Batch Plant Inspector.

Topics covered will include concrete materials, mix designs, batch plant procedures; introduction to plans reading, basics of reinforcing steel inspection. Emphasis will be on issues placing inspectors have to recheck such as clearances, review of standard tests for concrete, procedures for placing, consolidating and curing concrete, record keeping and duties, responsibilities and ethics of special inspectors.

Note: Each lab must assure that enrollee passed the math test that will be sent to you prior to the beginning of the class. Students are not eligible to enroll in class without passing this test. Please work with your enrollees to ensure that they pass the test.

Instructor: Sean Flint, Senior Field Inspector, AAR Testing. Sean is WABO certified in concrete, PT, masonry , shotcrete and Lateral Wood and has been inspecting for over 9 years.

Directions:
From northbound 405 –take Bronson Way/Maple Valley Exit 4. Then take the second of the two exits, Bronson Way. Turn right at the bottom of the off-ramp. Continue to the next stoplight and turn right onto Sunset Blvd. One block further at the stoplight, turn right onto NE 3rd St. Follow NE 3rd St to the top of the hill. RTC is on the left side after you crest over the top of the hill. Turn left on Monroe Avenue NE to access the main entrance.
From southbound 405 take Renton exit 4. Merge onto Sunset Blvd., turn left at the first stoplight onto NE 3rd St. Follow NE 3rd St to top of hill. RTC is on the left side after you crest over the top of the hill. Turn left on Monroe Avenue NE to access the main entrance.
