This special seminar will be presented in approximately 16 hours of
technical training designed to help those experienced in the fabrication
and/or erection of structural steel inspection prepare for the new ICC
(S1) exam. This course will enhance your knowledge of the technical
aspects, duties and responsibilities of the ICC steel (S1) Structural
Steel and Bolting Special Inspector, in accordance with provision of
the 2003 International Building Code. Other applicable texts include:
Model Program for Special Inspectors, Specifications for Structural
Joints Using ASTM A325 or A490 High Strength Bolts, AISC-Manual of Steel
Construction 13th Edition.
Topics to be covered include: general inspection practice, structural
plan reading, inspection reports, material sampling, testing and verifications,
steel frame observation
